Plain Prinia

Prinia inornata

Description:

Small sparrow sized bird (or smaller maybe) with a tail that sticks out. Drab colouration.

Habitat:

Urban residential area. This place has small parks for kids, elderly people etc...The bird called loudly from the Murraya paniculata hedge along the boundary railing of a small triangular area that serves as a buffer for two roads that branch here. It then flew to a high perch on a tree in the park opposite. All this while people on their morning walks continued without sparing it one look.

Notes:

My friend Nirupama Sundar helped with the ID. It was a cloudy morning..low light and max zoom. Quality of the shot isn't the best but since this is the FIRST time I have seen this species here...I am thrilled.
