Pachypodium rosulatum

Description:

The pachycaule trunk is a morphologically enlarged trunk that stores water so as to survive seasonal drought

Habitat:

transition zone between rainforest and spiny desert, the genus grows in areas where there are significant periods of dry months that range from five months to ten months

Notes:

I spotted this in the Tsimelahy parcel of Andohahela National Park. Elephant's Foot are one of my favorite plants. It was amazing to see them in the wild.
