Greater Plantain

Platago major

Description:

Small plant with overlapping, slightly rounded leaves spread on the ground. Straight shoots about 4 inches tall, lined with what are most likely seeds--the older ones had browned, but the young shoots had green seeds. Thanks to Dana for the suggestion!

Habitat:

In Yosemite Valley, near Tenaya Creek in a clearing.
