Protonotaria citrea
Medium sized warbler, with olive green back, blue-grey wings and tail. Head, neck and underparts are vibrant yellow. Bill, legs and feet are black. Formerly called "Golden Swamp Warbler".
Breeds mainly in Southeastern United States, north to Michigan and New York. Preferred habitats are wooded swamps, flooded bottomland forests, and wooded streams.
Normally in deep woods and swamps, this pair nested in a bird box on a friend's patio. This is the second year in a row they have nested there. Approx. 1/2 mile from Seneasha Creek Bottoms, west Attala County, MS.

This is one of the only two warbler species that nests in cavities. The other is Lucy's Warbler.
