Dragonfly nymph case

Description:

When the dragonfly nymph has fully developed, it crawls out of the water and hangs onto a reed, a leaf, or any support it can find. There the adult insect emerges, leaving an empty nymphal case. This usually happens in the early hours of the morning when it is still dark. It takes several hours for the wings to dry out completely.
