Watermelon

Citrullus lanatus

Description:

I noted this watermelon unexpectedly in a neighbor's flower bed. It is still rather small, but the rainy season is upon us. I only noted this one and with these bright colors I doubt there are any more of this size.

Habitat:

Native to southern Africa. Spotted in the tropical south, FL gulf coast.
