Description:

These sider orchids have just started to flower in the Adelaide Hills, they are growing in the same areas as Leopard Orchids (Diuris pardina) http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/711...

Habitat:

Leaf litter in a stoney area above an open Eucalypt forest, and some what into the forest margins. All were on western facing slopes

Notes:

Has a central flower with elongated petals waving out giving a look to that of a spider

Very cool spotting

We are so hoping to see spider orchids here some day. And orchid expert looked at our place once and said that we could expect spider and mosquito orchids. That was six years ago and we are still waiting.
