Can't be sure if it's on an oak tree though! The bark looks right, but the leaves I can see look odd.

Could definitely be Dryad's Saddle. That's one monstrous fungus.

It grew back the next year. I am hoping to post pictures from that year as well. The size of the mushrooms in that area is just amazing!!
