Pretty much. I've been getting bitten by stuff since I was a kid. Use good antiseptic techniques, and you shouldn't have any issues.

Thanks for sharing! It sounds like this wasn't your first snake bite? You must be very brave. I guess I'm more familiar with the common copper head bite of dogs - mostly on their muzzles and paws - that are routinely treated with steroids (or some anti-inflammatory for pain relief) and oral antibiotics (injectable antibiotics if on muzzle) following topical wound care. I take it you didn't do/get anything other than topical care and did ok?

Not at all! Any bite from a nonvenomous species of snake (or lizard or really anything) should just be treated like a regular cut. Many animals can carry bacteria in their mouths, so you should clean the bite with antiseptic and bandage it to prevent future infection.

If you don't mind sharing, what kind of treatment does a non-venomous snake bite require?

Thanks, but wait until I finish uploading all my shots. I have some better pics of this species. Might not get to them for a while. I have three months of tropical photos to do.

Great shot! I hope it was worth getting bitten for!
