Euphilotes rita
Small butterfly, colored as shown on the underside of the wings. Bold black spots are characteristic of the genus.
Found in degraded shortgrass prairie habitat with yucca, prickly-pear cacti, buckwheat, grasses, etc.
One of the "buckwheat blues" that feeds as a larva on Eriogonom spp. Easily mistaken for an Acmon Blue, but spots behind orange band on hindwing are *black*, not metallic blue.
