Orange Mycena

Mycena leaiana

Description:

vertical clump of orange fungi growing on a tree

Habitat:

temperate forest

Notes:

I spotted these cool mushrooms just off the trail in Short Hills provincial park. Funny story - As I was photographing these a woman was walking past me on the trail. She didn't even see me crouching by the tree. So as soon as she was walking past, I said 'Hi'. I definitely spooked her for a second!

Thanks Mark. I think that's a small and fair trade for getting to live in Australia!

Superb cluster Dan. So fresh. Another northerner we don't see here.
