Thanks, Textless. This bird had just jumped off the gate. Notice how the wings and flanks are tainted with blue. That's the adult plumage coming in. Soon this bird will be pied blue and white, and then completely turn the slate blue of the adult plumage.

Beautiful photo... I've never caught a bird in flight like that.
