A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Podarcis hispanicus
Lizards are, within all existing zoological groups, primarily vertebrates. This does not mean that they have vertebrae, but rather skulls. And then inside them, we know that they are tetrapods by having four legs. They are also amniotes because they lay eggs on land, something that amphibians do not do. If we continue to dig deeper, they belong to the same order that is that of the squamous (Squamata), which integrates beings as disparate as blind shingles, snakes and, finally, lizards and lizards (lacertidae family).
