Western Honey Bee

Description:

Small bee yellow and dark brown in color.

Habitat:

Found on every continent except Antarctica their habitats include gardens, woodlands, meadows, and orchards just to name a few.

Notes:

Fun Facts: 1. Bees have 5 eyes. 2. Western Honey bees communicate where sources of food can be found by dancing. The dance preformed indicate the distance and direction of where food is located. 3. A queen bee can lay up to 2,000 eggs each day! If you look closely in the photos I have posted you can see this bee's pollen baskets located on its' legs. This bee is feeding from a Turkey Tangle Frogfruit plant than grows naturally in my yard.
