Oppossum

Didelphis virginiana

Description:

It was around midnight, and I was in my suburban backyard with my dog when I felt this not-so-little lady looking down at me. I looked up and there she was, frozen, pretending not to be seen. We later saw her babies in our yard as well. They were SO cute. She is dripping from her nose here; not sure why.

Habitat:

Urban/suburban backyard

She probably saw you and froze, being she wasnt on the ground she couldnt play possum, the drool was probably a defensive liquid to deter predators. Nice photo!
