Thanks Laura :) I wasn't sure but my friend whom I was with at the time was sure. I didn't think so based on wiki but from what you say, it definitely is not a kingfisher. :)
Darren, this is a cormorant rather than a kingfisher :) Kingfishers are very small, and cormorants have those long necks. It's hard to tell from the angle, but it's probably a double-crested cormorant! They're lovely birds, and I love how you've captured some of its behaviour! http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Doubl...
