Description:

hard shell sluffs off as it grows,leaving it in a soft state, delicious table fare both ways.Green shell with blue claws on male.red tipped claws on female.abdomen on mature female shaped like dome.female sooks with eggs (sponge crab) pictured here migrate to salty water at mouth of bay to release them.

Habitat:

Brackish water ,bays and estuaries

Notes:

The swimming crab photos are the pregnant female sook with eggs at the mouth of the bay.Carrying her egg under her abdomen flap
