Marmota caligata
This is a pair of baby Hoary Marmots - the largest ground squirrel. Hoary refers to the silver-gray fur on their shoulders and upper back; the remainder of the upper parts are mainly covered in reddish brown fur. The underparts are grayish. They have a white patch on the muzzle and black feet and lower legs.
These hoary marmots were sited behind Mt Robson on snowbird pass. They were living near the tree line and like to dig holes around the rocks and trees.
