Diaethria clymena

Description:

The wingspan is about 30–40 mm. Adults are black with a blue band on each wing. The underside is red and white with black stripes that look like an outlined number eighty-eight. This butterfly is a member of the family NYMPHALIDAE.

Habitat:

Diaethria clymena is a butterfly from the Neotropic (South America). The distribution extends from México (South) to Peru and Brazil.
