Telopea aspera
The Gibraltar Range Waratah, also called the New England Waratah, is a shrub with one or more branches and dark green, veined leaves with serrated edges to varying degrees. Brilliant large, red, crimson and deep pink blooms form in Spring and reach a peak in October.
Once thirving in the drier granite soils and mountain environment of Gibraltar Range the T. aspera is suffering under the strain of environmental changes.
