yep, unfortunately the only good Butterflies books I know are the Devries Butterflies of Costa Rica, and they are very very hard to found

you are probably right. This species are very similar each other. For making a good identification you need each, a good book or/and the opinion of an specialist

Mechanitis polymnia isthmia. Heliconius has never red on/behind the head.
