Fir Tree

Description:

I went out early on a cool comfortable morning to see what I could find with my camera. Suddenly the whole valley below filled with white clouds. Our hotel was high up on the side of the mountain with most of the village a distance below.

Habitat:

It began a light rain during their Harvest Festival Parade held that afternoon. That night the rain turned to heavy snow with huge flakes all the next day. When it stopped the end of the day we had 47 centimeters or 15 inches of snow. We were not allowed to take our cars out for three days. Small trees were bent and broken and flowers crushed.

Notes:

The map will not allow me to put in Bad Gastien, Austria which is the proper location.

Hi Alice, Beautiful scene. Can you ID the tree and make this a plant spotting?

ok. thats a little back-door to remember. when i recall there was a little moth 5 meter away in the sky. no , is ok, already deleted and i understand that it is going about flora/fauna. you have at least the trees and flowers in you picture. maybe describe it as "fir covered in fog" . i also think some picture about landscape or nature could also get to here , as long as not everyone upload his hollyday-house. example: waterfall are living-room for some seaweeds, dragonfly or fishs. Moon has a direction impact/influence to animals, plants. So some pictures would not irritate me. I found yours falling under this thought of "impact of fauna and flora" therefore i had not flag it. just wanted to ask, or/and share my expierence

Alex, I like full moons too, but you need something else in the picture a tree to identify or a bird, then you can slip in the moon.

is this also in therms of fauna and flora, i had to delete my fullmoon picture (no animal or plant or fungi). i will not flag this one, but is it not the same as my deleted picture (at least not to bad as an human-head) But also nice pictures.!!
