about 3' feet tall, leaves very sharp like thistle, clusters of small white flowers on the end of the stems

Habitat:

montane forest

Notes:

I spotted this in the forest on the slopes of Mount Elgon. Unfortunately, this is the only photo I have.

It does look like your suggestion Ashish but the range doesn't fit. Perhaps it's not native. I wish I had some better photos of the leaves.
