Black-billed Magpie

Pica hudsonia

Description:

Juvenile magpie begging in recently mowed hayfield.

Habitat:

Alfalfa field

Notes:

Went looking for bobolinks, a relatively uncommon species in the area. Did not find bobolinks possibly due to recent mowing of alfalfa.

Lovely shots! We had lots of magpies in England & I loved watching their antics, they are such comic birds! Sadly we don't have them here in Tennessee.
