Description:

Medium sized turtle (also called European pond terrapin or tortoise), mainly brown with yellow dots on skin and stripes on shell.

Habitat:

A Palearctic species, resident in southern Europe and north Africa; here seen in wetlands surrounding Krka river, at the outskirts of Skradin, small town at the entrance to the park. Krka river is surrounded by a luxuriant and dense broad-leaved forest.
