Beefly

Bombomyia discoidea

Description:

The body was about 15 mm. Pollinator.

Habitat:

On rock formations close to a small riverbed.

Notes:

Beeflies use a lot of energy when they're beating their wings and hovering, therefore it is common to see them sitting on the ground trying to warm up in the sun.
