A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Charadrius vociferus
Long-legged, robin-sized bird. Brown on back and head, white breast and stomach with two black bands on breast. Tail is rusty red in flight.
Look for this bird in open areas, often nesting in short grass and rocky areas.
When nests are approached the these birds will feign injury by dragging a wing. Always staying just out of reach it will lead predators or humans away from the nest and then "recover" to fly away.
