I donth think it is moss but camouflage. Here is a pictrure a friend made in Ecuador, where the green details are very clear http://www.flickr.com/photos/primevalnat...

On the high res pic, it is clear that there is nothing growing on top of the spider, not even a lichen. It is just a matter of color patterns. High res pic can be seen here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/costarica1/...

I am very positive that, the green is the main color on the spider, that resembles lichen, it is so cool
