Pelican

Pelecanus occidentalis

Description:

Spotted in Pismo Beach Ca. I think its specifically a brown pelican but not positive.

Habitat:

Brown Pelicans live in all habitats on the Pacific, Atlantic, and Gulf coasts. They are rarely seen inland.

Notes:

Never try to eat shrimp cocktail while walking on the pier around these guys! They will attack you! Believe me I know!

Yay! I have comments and favs! Just started on here and loving it! My shots are no where near as good as most people on here. Believe it or not this pic was taken with a cell phone. Got to love technology!

We only have the American White Pelican and the Brown Pelican ~ Pelecanus occidentalis, of the 7 species 'round the planet.
The Pelican is such an odd critter. We have the White ones here... mezmerizing is what i feel from them.
