Banded Net-wing Beetle

Description:

Lycid beetle of about 18mm body length. Comparatively small head with serrated antennae; thorax has an orange raised rim; 'shoulders' and a band across elytra are also orange, everything else is glossy black.

Habitat:

Found among low vegetation on the way to the "Rostro Maya" in San Juan La Laguna, Lake Atitlán.
