Brewer's blackbird

Euphagus cyanocephalus

Description:

Black with feathers that glistened purple and green in the sunlight. Small yellow eyes. Could not get a better shot as the bird did not move while I was there.

Yes, this is a Brewer's Blackbird. A Common Grackle would have a larger beak.

This could be a male Brewer's Blackbird. The purple head makes me think so.
