Parasol mushroom

Macrolepiota procera

Description:

Large fruiting bodies (~25 cm tall), thin stipe, beige colored with scaly growths. Large cap with dark coloured flakes and white gills.

Habitat:

On soil that remained on a dead tree's roots, in a deciduous forest. Shaded area near a lake.

Notes:

There were some other fruiting bodies nearby (4-5 in nearby bushes).
