Yes, they have such great personality. They remind me of cats. One way to tell the gender is to examine the wing length. Females generally have short wings that don't extend past the abdomen tip.

I have forged a friendship with one praying Mantis. However I have decided not to feed it or let it inside the home . It is very happy outside. Every time I see it , I write my observations about it. I have not really narrowed it down to Male or Female nor the exact species. But one thing is for sure that it is an amazingly beautiful insect.
