The sea lions were swimming and kind of showing off for the people watching them.
A part water, part land enclosure in the zoo.
These are most likely the California Sea Lion (Z. californicus), however I can't be certain. The pictures were taken while walking through the Sea Lion Sound Cove in the St. Louis Zoo.
