Description:

Both adults and larvae feed on the fungus of rotting wood. Adults can vary in appearance from grey to blue to purplish blue but always with black spots. Size: 14-18 mm.

Habitat:

Spotted on a rotting log with fungus in Madera Canyon, Arizona. A creek is nearby with mixed forest.
