Giant stonefly

Description:

Length 5cm (not including antennae or tails).

Habitat:

Lotic-erosional. Found in the swift riffle portion of Cool streams (small to medium sized). Between loose, large rocks.

Notes:

Life cycle requires from 1 - 3 years. Adults emerge late spring to early summer. Very sensitive to stress in rivers.
