Common Housefly Catcher spider (male)

Plexippus petersi

Description:

Photos taken just seconds after this critter jumped on his dinner (another spider). 3rd photo: flash effect. Toe-to-toe he measured approx.(*) 1.5 cm (0.6 inches).

Habitat:

Hills overlooking Manila

Notes:

After taking the photos I tried to get up close with a ruler to take his measurements(*)... But he was sure living up to his name - jumping around like Zebedee from Magic Roundabout. (You probably have to be a fairly ancient Brit to understand that! :-) )

@ ChunXingWong and Raiyan Ahmed: Do you think this other spotting (also eating!) - http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/705... - is the same species?
The ID suggested for that one was Plexippus paykulli.

A house-dwelling spider feeding on another house-dwelling spider, a rare sight.
