Rhinoceros Beetle (female)

Description:

This brown beetle was about 4 cm (1.6 inches) long. Same as this spotting: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/710...

Habitat:

Hills overlooking Manila.

Notes:

She was crawling along the edge of the table, coming closer and closer to where I was sitting behind my laptop...

I have to admit to not being very keen on (translation: scared of) these beetles, who are regular visitors to our home. But after taking these photos my feelings are changing a bit: they are pretty good looking beetles after all... :-)

I'm just grateful for any time you can spend helping me find the right ID!
So, the scientific name is Hyboschema contractum (/ sobrinum). What would the common name be? Simply: Rhinoceros Beetle?

It's still in the same family and closely related to the Coconut Beetle :)

Yes, you can find it under the name of Coconut beetle or Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle.
