Leaf beetle

Lema quadripunctata


Size: medium sized beetle. Colour: reddish brown with conspicuous four rounded black spots. Head: a pairs of compound eyes- black and pair of antennae- narrow at the base and gradually widens at the tip, first 6 segments- reddish brown next three (7-9) segments- blackish and terminal segment (10th)- light brown. Elytra- reddish brown with two central vertical rounded blackish spots along with many small blackish punctures and the posterior of elytra has vertical lines- faint blackish colour. It is phytophagous and it creates elongated holes on the leaves which it feeds.
