Found on a rock wall at the University of Virginia's storm water containment pond (a.k.a "The Dell Pond").

Notes:

First seen on a tree, then later seen underneath a shaded ledge.

We had 3 on our maples - http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/737...
- all now cocoons!
