Description:

Small hawk. Tail long, barred, and ends with a square tip. Wings short and rounded. Adults with blue-gray back and wings, reddish barring on underparts.

Actually, it got lured in by all the quail, dove and other yard birds at the feeders. Didn't get a meal, but stayed for a drink and a bath. How many people get to watch a hawk take a bath in the wild?

Did it get lured in for the picture with that pan of water? I suppose open water is pretty rare there.
