Black Bellied Plover

Pluvialis squatarola

Description:

Juvenile Black Bellied Plover is a medium sized shore bird.

Habitat:

Many of them may be seen throughout the year on the sand bar between Chebeague and Little Chebeague. Sometimes they are found on the Great Chebeague Golf Club.

Notes:

Wasn't sure what this bird was till I saw the black under his wings when flying.
