Cortinarius semisanguineus
One of many "little brown mushrooms" in our boreal forest, Cortinarius semisanguineus one can be identified by checking the gills and the base of the stem. The gills are almost blood red (semisanguineus) and the base of the yellowish stem has a pinkish-red colouring. The cap has a slight umbro which is typically darker than the edge of the cap. This mushroom is a great source of a pigment that creates a deep red dye.
