Nephrotoma sp
There are many types of Crane Flies, which makes finding the exact scientific name difficult. The Tiger Crane Fly is one of the larger types of Crane Flies. Its body is long and slender with black & orange stripes. Their wings are a slightly transparent beige color. They grow to be around an inch and their legs are very long. They can be found is grassy areas, like fields, during spring and summer. They have been spotted throughout the US and even in England. The adults feed on nectar and help pollinate plants, while the larvae eat plant roots.
