Winterberry

Ilex verticillata 'Winter Gold'

Description:

Deciduous shrub native to Eastern United States. This variety is mature at about 8' x 8', blooms white in late spring, & will tolerate climates from Maine to Florida & mild shady areas (prefers full sun). My favorite aspect are its berries, which turn a brilliant orange-gold color in the fall.

Habitat:

Full sun areas from zone 4-9 (Maine to Florida). Will tolerate mild shade. Well-drained soil.
