I moved this (and other pics of the Reptile Park specimens) to pets since either their distribution does not cover the area, or the habitat is not conducive to the specific species.

I manage a reptile park. The mothers do defend their nests quite viciously.
I assume these were collected in the wild a mother croc would defend her nest.
