Chestnut-bellied Starling

Lamprotornis pulcher

Description:

This member of Sturnidae family comes in two main colors - rufous or chestnut colored belly, and dark blue with greenish hue on chest and upperparts; and lacks the glossy shine all over. Grey-brown (again not glossy) head with pale eye.

Habitat:

Common resident and intra-African migrant, remaining in sub-Saharan semi-desert belt. Here observed in semi-urban setting, it was a regular visitor of our office compound in Mao township in Kanem region of Chad.

Notes:

Seems like the first spotting on NOAH.
