Hello. All of the Australian mainland Morelia amethistina are now considered Morelia kinghorni (a former subspecies).

Thanks for the Id on this one too I kept thinking it was a spotted python but just didn't look right!
This guy was curled up, there's actually 2 there and yes I believe they keep their head out so they are ready in case something disturbs them, but he looked quite relaxed =)
