Indian Paintbrush

Castilleja sp.

Description:

A typical Indian Paintbrush of unknown species on the Old Baldy Trail going up the peak of Mt. Wrightson, the highest point of the Coronado mountains.

Habitat:

Found growing every now and then along the trails leading up to the peak, usually in small clusters of the plant.

Notes:

It is also known as Prairie-fire. I'm told that species IDing takes quite a bit of effort, so for now, Indian Paintbrush is good enough. :)
