Notophthalmus viridescens
Small orange lizard
Forest floor
About 1.5 inches long
Hey great catch! We've updated the species category. Thanks!
It's an amphibian, not a lizard. I have a Fire Belly Newt.
I love these little guys! They're born in water, then go for years wandering on land, and then go back to the water to become adults.
Nice ID Anne! Spotting updated.
Red-spotted newt (eastern newt) in it's eft stage
